About

My name is Joshua Mast and I’m “The Man behind Mast Gun Works”. I’ve had many dreams of what to do with my life and one of those has been to work with firearms. Another dream was to become a firefighter. I accomplished that goal many years ago and have been in public service for 17 years as an EMT and then a firefighter/paramedic. I love the job and you can read more about that part of my crazy busy life here

I’ve been around firearms from the time I was born. My Dad took me hunting every chance we got and I now have the privilege of taking my kids out each year for deer, turkey, or squirrel. Ever since I was a little boy I’ve been fascinated with firearms and how they worked. Every time I got one I’d take it apart and put it back together… repeatedly. It drove my dad crazy. He and I used to “garage engineer” scope mounts, modify our stocks, and load our own ammunition. We had a lot of fun and made many memories. Now that he’s gone I think of him often when I’m working in my gun shop or hunting with my kids.

I am a certified instructor and love educating people on all things firearms related. I take great pride in my work and strive to do the best I can for my customers. I believe that “You are Your Brothers Keeper” and feel blessed to be able to help out my fellow public servants with their personal safety needs. I am a full-service Gunsmith but if there’s something that I can’t do I will help you find someone who can.

Mast Gun Works was born out of a deep desire to spend more time with my family and provide for them without being away for days at a time. I come from generations of mostly Amish men who owned their own businesses so it was an easy decision to turn my hobby into a business.

My family is pretty tight, and I was fortunate to marry into a family that is passionate about using their gifts and talents to teach kids about Jesus. This has given me the opportunity to spend a lot of time over the summers teaching kids about gun safety and the joys of shooting sports.

I met my wife at church when she was 14 and I was 16. After many years of trying to convince her to go on a date with me, I finally got her to agree. Five months later we were married! We’ve been married for 15 years and have 8 children. Yes, we are that crazy large family that homeschools, uses essential oils and makes our own soap. (You can talk to Beth about all that though.) Because of our lifestyle, I have the privilege of teaching them my trade and helping with their education all at once. I enjoy spending time with them and helping each one learn what their strengths are! God has blessed me beyond my wildest dreams and I’m thankful that I get to share many of my blessings with you.

I look forward to being able to serve you.
